In short

Anita does not process your personal data. The app runs entirely on your device. The projects, sections and records you create are stored there and never reach us. If you choose to save them to a cloud, it is a cloud you provide yourself, and your data goes directly from your device to it without passing through us.

Who we are

"Anita", "we" and "us" mean the developers who publish the Anita app and this website. "You" means the person using Anita.

Why Anita does not process your personal data

Data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), apply to anyone who processes personal data: collecting, recording, storing, consulting or transmitting it. Anita is built so that we never do any of these things with the data you manage in the app.

  • The app works only on your device. Anita is a progressive web app. Once loaded, it runs in your browser and saves everything in your browser's storage on your device. We have no server that receives, stores or reads that data, and no way to access it.
  • There are no accounts. Anita has no sign-up and no user accounts, so we don't know who uses it or what they store.
  • You choose your cloud. If you want to save or sync your projects, you connect Anita to storage you provide yourself. That is your own account with a supported third-party provider (such as Dropbox). The connection runs directly between your browser and that service. The access tokens stay on your device, and your data travels from your device to your cloud without touching any server of ours. Your relationship with that provider is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

So for the data you manage with Anita, we are neither a controller nor a processor. You decide what to store and where to keep it, and you (or the organisation you use Anita for) remain the only party responsible for it. Using Anita adds no other party. If you store other people's personal data in Anita, such as a contact list, you are responsible for it under the applicable law, unless an exemption applies, such as the one for purely personal or household activities.

The website and app delivery

For full transparency, here is what happens when you open this website or load the app:

  • Hosting. This website and the app are static files served by a static web server. Like any web server, it may log technical data such as IP addresses for security and delivery. We don't use those logs.
  • Visit counts. We count visits with a completely anonymous system: no cookies, no tracking across sites and no IP addresses stored. We only see totals, such as pages viewed, referrer, browser, screen size and country.
  • Icons. Some icons load from a public content delivery network.

None of these services has access to the content you create in Anita.

Cookies and local storage

Anita uses no cookies for tracking or profiling. The app uses your browser's storage only to keep your data and settings on your device, and nothing stored there is sent to us.

Your rights

We hold none of your data, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You keep full control: delete projects in the app or clear the site's data in your browser, and delete any synced copies directly in your cloud. For data handled by third-party providers you choose, contact them directly.

Changes to this policy

If the way Anita works changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and its date.
